Lavern Merriman

I have a genuine passion for taking care of children, finding joy in nurturing their curiosity and supporting their development. I enjoy creating engaging activities that promote learning and creativity while ensuring they feel safe and loved. Whether it's helping with their homework, playing games, or simply listening to their thoughts and feelings, I strive to foster a warm and encouraging environment where children can thrive. 

As a teacher assistant, I work with a diverse group of students, including those with autism. My primary goal is to facilitate the flow of the class while ensuring that all students have specific objectives to achieve for the day. I've found that my autistic students are often able to keep pace with these class goals, demonstrating that they can be fast learners when provided with the right support and environment.

I completed my degree at Felician University in 2017, which has significantly shaped my educational background. Following my graduation, I began working with students both in the classroom and as a nanny, gaining valuable experience in educational support and childcare.
