About Korstiaan Vandiver:
I am Korstiaan Vandiver PhD, an educator and award-winning filmmaker, with over 2 decades of experience, my latest Christian faith-based project held a multi-million dollar Lionsgate Studio deal for an upcoming project as a writer/producer/director, "Underwater".
My scripts have garnered interest and attachments from Oscar-winners such as Mahershala Ali, Regina King, Will Smith & Oscar nominees Ryan Gosling, Idris Elba and more.
I'm producing a Jamie Foxx feature film in development which I also was paid to rewrite and am in talks to direct. I recently completed a screenplay assignment, "Nobody" a historical drama for one of the "Loving" producers with Oscar Nominee Ruth Negga and the TIFF producer of the film "The First Grader".
I wrote a TV pilot Candyland which has been called "The Wire in Nigeria" by a couple agents and other industry professionals. Instead of drugs it deals more in oil of course. Ironically actor, Gbenga Akinnagbe from HBO's famed The Wire is attached as the lead.
I'm a writer, and producer of "12", the story of 12-year-old Tamir Rice killed by Cleveland police with the producers of "Z for Zachariah" & "Short Term 12" currently being packaged and repped at CAA.
I worked on the Sundance-winner "The Birth of a Nation" as a producer from producing a full-length doc to BTS and DVD Extra. I also gave script notes on the project. The film sold for $17.5 M. At the time it was the highest-selling film in Sundance Film Fest history and is still the highest-selling balk film in Sundance history.
I wrote "Hellhound On His Trail" a TV mini-series and materials based on the book by Hampton Sides. Hampton was so impressed they gave me another property and they pitched me to shadow "Hostiles" director, Scott Cooper who is working on the film project. Sides bases Hellhound on the stalking of Martin Luther King Jr. by Earl Ray.
I have a TV show project at Netflix with the Narcos producers and Oscar-winner Regina King
I represented "Judas and the Black Messiah" an Oscar-winning historical drama as a Sundance Film Festival Satellite partner with the Morehouse Human Rights Film Festival. I also promoted the new Jodie Foster, Benedict Cumberbatch film, "The Mauritanian" and Black Panther. I promoted "Macbeth" with Denzel Washington, Apples: "The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey" with Samuel Jackson, and the film "Master" starring Regina Hall. I also did marketing for Marvel's Black Panther franchise.
I recently wrote a pilot for a CAA rep in their literary department.
I am an educator teaching filmmaking and screenwriting at every level. I work with Morehouse College Film Festival and teach screenwriting alma mater of a past mentor and film great Spike Lee. I sit on the board for the Cinema program at GA State University, I advise GA Tech film ed, I also partner w/ Alcorn State, Jackson State, Mississippi State University and Medgar Evers College in New York via the Medgar Evers and Myrlie Evers Foundation.
My latest film as a producer, "Color Book" starring Will Catlett premiered in Tribeca Film Festival '24 and has since one several fests, including Austin Film Fest for Best Feature Film and I recently directed a World Cup Soccer Film for Atlanta with award-winning DP Eric Branco. I currently teach inmates in Fort Bend County via my faith-based screenwriting program “Change the Narrative”, graduating 3 cohorts thus far.
