Kimberly Zachary

Before I decided to stay home with my children and enjoy the blessings that God provided me with, I taught in public education for eight years. I taught High School English and Journalism. I have a Masters Degree in Curiculum and Instruction as well as two bachelors degrees: English for Teachers and General Ministries. I am eager to explore new avenues for helping students become life long learners. 

I taught ninth and twefth grade English for eight years. I also taught yearbook Journalism for three years. I was the Freshman lead teacher for three years. I coordinated all of the curriculum for 9th grade at my site. I also did extensive research on Mastery Based and Standards based grading and data collection to present to my site. I participated in a statewide case study for ERWC: English Reading and Writing Course: developed by the CSU system for high school junior and seniors. I got to be innovative and creative with ways to teach students an propellthen to the goals and standards the CSU system required. My team created a video responding to frequently asked questions that is still used for ERWC training today. I have worked with teams on grade level and cross subject alignment. I have also enjoyed motivating students to enjoy learning. 

After recieving my Bachelors in both English for teaching and General Ministries, as well as my Single Subject English credential from Simpson University, I went on to get my Masters degree from CSU Chico in Curriculum and Instruction. I was even asked to sit on a research board for one of my professors:looking at how natural disasters such as, the CARR fireand the Paradise fire had affected education in rural areas.
