About Khalid Hassan:
My name is Khalid, and I live in New Jersey, USA. I graduated in 2017 from New Jersey City University (NJCU) with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am bilingual in English and Arabic, and I am a proud American citizen.
I bring over 20 years of leadership experience as a manager of a medical mobility service, where I oversaw operations, ensured safe patient transport, and led a team committed to serving people with diverse medical needs. I am also a certified instructor for Mobility Assistance Vehicle Operators (MAVO–oxygen certified), and I am certified in CPR. I hold a valid New Jersey Class B driver’s license with a passenger endorsement.
Currently, I am seeking part-time night shift work where I can continue to help others while further developing my counseling skills. Helping others has been a lifelong passion for me, and I am now focused on advancing my career as a mental health and addiction counselor. I am working toward obtaining my state counseling license and am committed to supporting individuals on their path to wellness and sobriety.
I have practical experience from my clinical training at Bayonne Community Mental Health Center, where I applied therapeutic techniques and led group sessions. I also completed an internship at New Hope Mental Health Center in Irvington, NJ, where I supported adolescents with ADHD through an after-school program.
My professional background spans across cultures and continents. Before moving to the U.S., I worked in several Middle Eastern countries including Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. In Riyadh, I served as a sales supervisor and later became a district manager for the western region. I hold a B.A. from Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco.
I am a multicultural, open-minded person with a deep commitment to serving people of all ages and abilities. My diverse background has allowed me to connect with and assist individuals from a wide range of communities and experiences.
Experience
As a clinical mental Health counselor, I have practical experience from my clinical training at Bayonne Community Mental Health Center, where I applied therapeutic techniques and led group sessions. I also completed an internship at New Hope Mental Health Center in Irvington, NJ, where I supported adolescents with ADHD through an after-school program. During this internship, I practiced group facilitation, one-on-one counseling, and behavioral intervention techniques tailored to the developmental and emotional needs of adolescents.
Education
In addition to my formal education and training, I have gained valuable experience over many years working with individuals struggling with addiction. I have spent time in methadone clinics observing behaviors, supporting treatment planning, attending group sessions with addiction counselors, and helping manage follow-up care. These hands-on experiences have strengthened my understanding of substance use disorders and increased my empathy and effectiveness in supporting recovery.
