Kevin Khai Nguyen

Hello, My name is Kevin Khai Nguyen. I'm an experienced chemist with a passion for learning and improving my skillsets in the field of science. I have years of experience working in chemistry and biology labs, I have a proven track record as a dedicated student. I began my journey as a research associate under the guidance of Dr. Roger Terrill at San Jose State University. Our primary focus was developing innovative chemicals for depositing gold and copper metal films. This involved working with solution-phase metal precursors known as MOD inks, capable of producing conductive metal films when heated at low temperatures. To assess the properties of the metal films, we utilized various techniques such as XPS, AFM, Confocal Microscopy, and conductivity measurements. Additionally, we extensively characterized the MOD inks through techniques like GC-MS, DSC, TGA, UV-Vis, attenuated FTIR, and XPS. Our efforts also encompassed optimizing the deposition and curing processes to enhance the overall performance and quality of the metal film deposition.

I obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry during my undergraduate studies at San Jose State University in 2020. Recognizing my passion for the subject, I decided to continue my educational journey and immediately pursue a master's degree in chemistry following my graduation. I dedicated myself to my studies, and by December 2022, I successfully completed all the coursework required for my master's degree. This academic progression allowed me to deepen my understanding of chemistry and develop advanced skills in the field.
