Keegan O'Brien

For the past 25 years, I have been a public-school teacher here in Colorado Springs, in both middle and elementary school classrooms. With teaching comes many responsibilities and skill sets that can be easily applied to other jobs. On a day-to-day basis, I am planning, organizing, collaborating and communicating with adults (both colleagues and parents of my students), keeping track of data and records, monitoring and replying to communication via email and phone calls, and, of course, working with students with varying needs, both academically and emotionally. Being a teacher means you have to be flexible and able to deal with changes as they happen throughout the day. Being able to adapt to change and adjust as needed is something I excel at. I would love the opportunity to continue to work with people as they grow in their lives.

I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, received my Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Music from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and then went on to Colorado College to earn my Masters of Arts in Elementary Education.
