Kaushal Kurapati

Kaushal is a product executive whose career has been spent in Data and AI working in Search, Personalization, AdTech, MarTech, and FinTech.

Most recently, Kaushal has been a Group Vice President in Oracle’s CX (Customer experience) Marketing division, being a general manager (GM) leading a global team of ~400 PMs, Engineers and Data Scientists building a real-time personalization engine and a customer data platform. He shaped the vision, figured out the product-market fit, grew the revenue 3x, brought cohesion among disparate teams, incubated the data science group and built machine learning models & infrastructure.

Prior to Oracle he was VP of Product Management at MasterCard in the FinTech space, building a platform to deliver personalized card-linked offers based on past user transaction behavior. Prior to that he spent 6+ years at Yahoo in its Search and Small Business units. As head of product for the $150M Yahoo Small Business he managed an e-commerce platform and developed new services for simplifying online advertising for small businesses. In Search, he was responsible for user experience for 300M+ daily users over the core web search page and all vertical search platforms (image search, video search, local search, etc.) worldwide. Earlier in his career he developed recommender systems for TV, embedding machine learning based personalization algorithms into consumer set-top boxes while at Philips Electronics Research in New York.

Kaushal is an active participant in hackathons and is a three-time winner at MasterCard, including a grand global prize. He holds 25 patents issued to-date and 50+ filed so-far, in the areas of Personalization, Payments, and Search Relevance Algorithms. He is also a winner of the Yahoo Super Star award, a founders' award at Yahoo given to select-few worldwide. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Delaware. Kaushal holds an MBA from NYU's Stern school of business along with Masters degrees in Computer Science & Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland Baltimore County and University of Delaware respectively. He is originally an Aerospace Engineer from IIT-Madras in India.

Most recently I have been privileged to lead a global team of close to 400 Product Managers, Engineers and Data Scientists building a real-time personalization engine and a customer data platform at Oracle. I shaped the vision, set the north-star, help figure out the product market fit, brought cohesion to disparate teams with a common purpose, incubated the data science group and built machine learning models and infrastructure, and grew a business 3x during my tenure at Oracle. I am passionate about leveraging AI to transform industries, deliver insights to customers in a way that makes their life easier, and automate workflows.
