About Kathleen Gilmore:

After working as a special educator for more than 30 years and as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2011, I am now considering ways to expand my career.  I would like to explore organizations that share my belief that all people can learn and succeed when given the right direction, tools and motivation.  Expanding my career would give me the opportunity to have a greater impact on a larger population. 

Experience

Resource Room Teacher, Walla Walla Public Schools, Walla Walla, Washington:  August 2014-Present

  • Instruct students using research based, specially designed instruction in a small group setting
  • Case manage 35+ students, managing all paperwork and leading meetings
  • Communicate clearly with families and staff regarding student needs
  • Plan and collaborate with general education teachers in a “push-in” model
  • Assess students present levels using curriculum based and standardized testing
  • Write Individual Education Plans for each student and ensure those plans are upheld
  • Collect data regularly to determine effectiveness of programming and adjust as needed

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments to determine the function of target behaviors

  • Train staff and families how to implement intervention plans as well as take data
