Karen Rader

I am a retired military nurse with experience in both inpatient and outpatient nursing.  My most current experience is as a diabetes nurse educator located at the Diabetes Center of Excellence at Lackland AFB, TX.

I am an energetic self-starter with tremendous initiative and a disciplined work ethic. I consider myself to be a team player and mentor.  I am committed to providing patients with quality patient care. My personal philosophy is to always treat others as I would want to be treated.

I have been a Registered nurse for over 30 yrs and I have performed in various inpatient and outpatient nursing roles.  I was a clinical nurse for over 10yrs and branched into various leadership roles to include executive leadership roles.

My academic preparation includes a two Master of Science degrees in National Resource Strategy and Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.  Throughout my career in the U.S. Air Force, I successfully completed many advanced professional training academies, schools, graduate-level courses, and seminars.  The last course I attended was the Diabetes Prevention Program Group Lifestyle Balance program through the University of Pittsburgh where I receive my Master Trainer certification.
