Kaohly Her

Kaohly Her is a committed public servant and community leader with a proven track record of delivering results for Saint Paul and Minnesota. Elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018, she represents District 64A, spanning neighborhoods from Cathedral Hill to MacGroveland, Merriam Park, and LexHam. Kaohly has held key leadership roles, including Majority Whip and Speaker Pro Tempore, and most recently co-chaired the influential House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee.

Known for her collaborative approach and ability to get things done, Kaohly is now running for mayor to bring her experience in public service and the private sector to lead Saint Paul toward a brighter, more prosperous, and fairer future.

Kaohly Her was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2018, representing District 64A in Saint Paul. Over her legislative career, she has served in key leadership roles including Majority Whip and Speaker Pro Tempore, working alongside Speaker Melissa Hortman. Most recently, she co-chaired the influential House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee, where she led efforts to shape economic and consumer protection policies.

Her legislative achievements span critical areas such as education, housing, healthcare, immigrant rights, energy and environment, reproductive rights, workers’ rights, and public safety. She has consistently built coalitions, advanced progressive policies, and ensured accountability in government systems.

Before serving in the legislature, Kaohly worked extensively in the private and nonprofit sectors, where she focused on building relationships, supporting communities, and strengthening opportunities for families. Her combined experience in both public service and community leadership positions her as a proven leader ready to guide Saint Paul into a vibrant and equitable future.
