Juanita Mesa Giraldo

I hold an LPC-A license and have two master’s degrees: one in Mental Health and Counseling from Houston Christian University and the other in Clinical Psychology from Colombia. With over 8 years of experience, I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents in various settings. In my current role, I provide individual and group counseling therapy to adolescents and families, focusing on psychoeducation, safety planning, crisis interventions, and empowering individuals to become the best version of themselves.

I am currently in the process of becoming certified in the Trauma-Informed-CBT Approach by ORR and in the Collaborative Problem-Solving approach (CPS). I enjoy working with a multidisciplinary team, bringing new ideas, activities, and interventions tailored to individual and group needs. Likewise, I enjoy participating in organizational activities and volunteering for special events. I have a diverse multicultural background, having been an exchange student in Nebraska and Brazil.

My counseling skills are above par. I am an organized person with attention to detail, and I have various activities that promote people's insight, helping them understand and envision their future. In my free time I do crafts, painting, cooking, and running.
