Juan Tabares

After 17 years of being a graphic designer, I felt like it was time for a career change. So, I decided to pursue a career as a cybersecurity professional. I have great attention to detail from my time as a graphic designer, as well as great collaboration skills from working on a design team. I recently completed the Google Cybersecurity Certificate, which was a rigorous, skills-based program that covers key cybersecurity knowledge and skills. I am confident in my knowledge about NIST frameworks and am able to implement security controls to ensure compliance with international regulations related to data protection. During the certificate program, I have gained experience with identifying threads, risks, and vulnerabilities; security hardening; threat modeling; and incident escalation and response. I have gained proficiency of Linux command line, SQL, and Python. With strong communication and problem-solving skills, I am confident I would be a great asset, and addition, to any team.

Design fashion apparel from start to finish. I also create technical packages with instructions for the manufacturers to follow. In these technical packages I specify fabrication of the garment, stitching details, color requirements, and size specifications. I keep up with manufacturers to make sure production is going as smoothly as it should.
