During my role as an Assistant Principal & Instructional Coach for Star International Academy in Michigan, USA I was responsible for driving the planning, development, and implementation of curriculum and programs while generating reports, promoting staff professional development, and handling diverse administrative tasks. Furthermore, my role included maintaining a balance between meeting, or surpassing, state guidelines and national criteria for standardized test scores while remaining committed to focusing on the “whole child” experience—including emotional and social growth. In addition, I had the role of building and sustaining strong student and staff relationships, encouraging queries and comments and laying the foundation for a challenging and exciting school environment.
Under my “Family Engagement and Parent Liaison” role, my responsibilities included partnering with parents, teachers, guidance counselors, social workers and community members to improve student attendance and resolve difficult problems.
Finally, I have over 12 years of experience in the Education industry in the Middle East. I began my career as a Science teacher in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. I moved on to become an Academic Quality Controller, were I was responsible for ensuring that students and teachers were following school requirements, as well as communicating and coordinating with parents and community stakeholders.
My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Public Administration in the American University of Beirut, Lebanon; where I also received my Teaching Diploma. I also received my Graduate degree in Educational Leadership in Central Michigan University, USA.
