Jorja Whitcher

My name is Jorja Whitcher, I am from Rapid City, South Dakota. I go to college at Northern Arizona University. My major is Environmental Engineering and I am graduating in May 2025. I am passionate about engineering because it helps society function and I have always wanted to help people. I am interested in a profession related to water engineering or hazardous waste management. 

I have had a civil/environmental engineering internship for the past 1.5 years at Rock Creek Engineering. I worked full time over the summer of 2024. At this position I gained extensive experience with drafting on AutoCAD, wastewater design calculations, meeting environmental regulations, and report writing. I have excellent communication, technical writing, customer service, and leadership skills. My senior project is related to hazardous waste management. I did a preliminary assessment and site investigation at an abandoned mine site. A group of students and I are working on creating a remedial action plan for the site.
