Joi Lee

I am a dedicated public policy professional with a strong background in research and evaluation, currently serving as a Research and Evaluation Specialist at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). My role involves conducting and supporting comprehensive surveys, interviews, and focus groups, analyzing national survey data, and translating these findings into actionable policy recommendations. I collaborate with key organizations like the CDC and present insights at significant events such as Hill Day.

Previously, I worked as a Program Policy Analyst II at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where I was involved in several R-01 studies, managed qualitative and quantitative research projects, and played a key role in the Equitable and Ethical Global Health Practices initiative. My experience also includes serving as a Fellow with the UCSF Bixby Advocacy Fellowship, where I informed California legislative staffers on pipeline programs for disadvantaged medical students, and as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator at San Francisco General Hospital, where I managed patient enrollment and data analysis for research studies.

I co-founded the San Francisco Health Initiative, securing funding and mentoring underserved students in biomedical careers. My academic achievements include a Master of Public Policy from American University, graduating with honors, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Francisco State University. I am skilled in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, policy evaluation, and effective communication of research findings, with multiple first-authored publications and presentations at national conferences.
