With a background in biomedical engineering and an M.Sc. in Biological Sciences, I bring a unique interdisciplinary perspective to product security and software engineering. My experience spans secure web application development, vulnerability management, and threat detection. As a software engineer, I have delivered UI enhancements for web applications using React, JSF and Java, while integrating secure coding practices aligned with OWASP standards and tools such as Fortify, Checkmarx, and Black Duck. I have contributed across all stages of the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipeline implementation with Jenkins and Azure DevOps. As a cybersecurity analyst on a SOC team, I’ve been responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of client services, which deepened my understanding of emerging threats, use case design, and the management of monitoring tools. Collaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams across borders has honed my adaptability, cultural awareness, and communication skills.

I’m a Cybersecurity Analyst and Software Engineer with hands-on experience in threat detection, secure development, and incident response across enterprise environments. At Invotecsa Innovaciones Tecnológicas SAS, I currently monitor internal and external security alerts using Darktrace and QRadar, develop threat detection use cases in CrowdStrike Falcon aligned with MITRE ATT&CK, and lead threat hunting efforts that strengthen clients’ vulnerability management and security architecture. Previously, at ScotiaGBS from Scotiabank, I collaborated remotely with Canadian teams to deliver secure, error-free software solutions. I led UI enhancements, addressed code vulnerabilities using OWASP standards and tools like Fortify and Checkmarx, and acted as a security SME advising on TLS/SSL remediation and CI/CD pipeline hardening. I also automated incident alerting workflows with Splunk, Dynatrace, and Ansible, and mentored junior engineers to promote secure deployment practices and a culture of technical excellence.

I’m currently pursuing cybersecurity certification through ISC2 and have completed specialized training with CrowdStrike University, including courses on Falcon Platform Architecture and Essentials. I hold a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Los Andes University, where I built a strong foundation in analytical thinking and technical problem-solving.
