Jessica Laubacher

I appreciate creative problem solving and investigating the root of a mystery. I enjoy meeting new people and learning all that I can when I can. I love to organize and plan, while still working to leave room for spontaneity. I am a hard worker and creative thinker that is excited to explore the world ahead of me, and I cannot wait to get started.

I am currently a Member Services Associate at the Tennessee Aquarium. I mostly work on my computer and with guests face to face, setting up memberships, answering questions, and fixing problems on the spot, all while ensuring guest satisfaction. My favorite part of this position, however, is being able to create a positive environment for guests to not only learn about animals and conservation, but to have fun as well.

Recently, I have also completed an internship position with the TDEC Water Resources Division. This summer internship has offered me valuable experience in my desired field of environmental science. Through this internship I have been able to learn about the chemical and biological monitoring of waterways, as well as the regulations places on waste treatment and discharge facilities. This has been a great opportunity to learn about careers in my desired field and gain important experience that will help me in the near future.

I am currently a senior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga working on my undergrad in environmental policy and planning with a minor in political science with a GPA of 3.68. I am projected to graduate in December of 2023. My goal with this degree is to work to improve conservation efforts around the world.
