I am particularly dedicated to providing care individuals who are unable to care or advocate for themselves in the context of a debilitating mental illness. My approach focuses on fostering a therapeutic, compassionate alliance and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients have the best possible inpatient and outpatient resources for continued care.

Psychiatry Residency Experience:

• Completed all ACGME requirements/rotations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings with a diverse patient population demonstrating a vast etiology of psychopathology
  • Additional rotations in Forensic Psychiatry, Emergency Psychiatry, Medication Assisted Treatment for Substance Use Disorders, Eating Recovery Center, Psychiatric Emergency Room Partial Hospitalization Program, and Intensive Outpatient Program
  • Interventional psychiatry experience and rotations in electroconvulsive shock therapy (ECT), Ketamine, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) 
• Elected as PGY-III/IV representative to the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) to work on metrics including the quality of educational experiences (i.e., didactics), revising institutional policies, and residency quality improvement
• Disaster Mental Health (DMH) volunteer at the Red Cross, Colorado Department during residency, responding to emergent psychiatric needs and stabilization in the setting of traumatic events including house fires and mass casualties 
• Volunteered to teach didactics sessions on psychopharmacology and interventional psychiatry
• Received the Psychiatry Resident In-Training Examination (PRITE) award for top 90th percentile score

Psychiatry Moonlighting Experience:

• Inpatient moonlighting weekend experience in the inpatient setting at Highlands Behavioral Health, independently managing a patient list of approximately 25 patients per day
  • Independently evaluated the need for medications (EMEDS) as indicated
  • Extensive experience in writing and evaluating need for M1s, STCS, and LTCs
• Independent weekend work experience at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery Crisis Stabilization Unit 
  • Provided on-call overnight emergent telephone support for both moonlighting roles
  • Experience in evaluating need for Involuntary Commitments for Substance Use
  • Experience in substance use withdrawal resources and care including administration of Methadone and Suboxone
