About Jeffrey Richard:
After retiring from the practice of law here in Napa about three years ago, I completed my coursework and received a Certificate of Achievement in Wine Marketing from Napa Valley College (4.0 GPA). I took courses in viticulture, winemaking, wine marketing, and sensory analysis, and courses that focused on wines of Napa, wines of California, and wines of the world. I am interested in a part-time position or an internship to get my foot in the door in winemaking or in wine hospitality. My wife works full time as a sensory technician for another wine producer.
Experience
I practiced law in the private and public sectors for 37 years. I am highly trained in the art of persuasion (getting people to like and trust me and my message) and am a skilled communicator. While in college, I worked as a bartender so also have some hospitality experience. I am only in my mid 60s and am physically and mentally fit, vigorous and ready to embark on a new chapter in my life.
I am also very active in the community as a volunteer. I volunteered for the Napa County Resource Conservation District and worked in its demonstration vineyard. I monitored soil moisture levels for the vineyard manager. I volunteer for the Jameson Humane organization and write monthly articles on their website's blog.
