About Jean-Michel Maldague:

I have a PhD in Mathematics from UCLA, specializing in numerical analysis but with abilities in applied math broadly. I've been a teacher for most of my life, and want to transition to working as a data scientist to utilize my abilities to my fullest. I've worked on tough research problems as an academic mentor for RIPS such as multigrid techniques for solving linear systems arising from discretizing 4th order PDEs in Tokamak plasma simulations and Bayesian Optimization for black box functions.
