WORK EXPERIENCE

Franklin CSD, Oneonta, NY (2021—2022)

• Active counselor for the entire school district, responsible for a total of 225 students
• Provides IEP counseling and group counseling, with a current caseload of 8 IEP students
• Due to COVID-19, assumed administrative roles beyond parameters of school counselor for multiple extended periods
• Duties include, but are not limited to: restorative counseling sessions, creating multiple lesson plans from pre-k to sixth grade on social emotional behaviors, facilitating conflict resolution between students, writing multiple letters of recommendation, helping juniors and seniors sign up for SATs, other pre-college testing, and pre-college preparation
• Utilize Schooltool for the purposes of individual scheduling of 225 K-12 students, master scheduling, interim progress report, report card and transcript management 
• Participate in administrative meetings to collaborate with the principal, superintendent, and school psychologist regarding individual student concerns, student programming, and how to work together to enhance student success 
• Meet with students individually and in small groups to complete college applications and course selection 
• Collaborate with the principal on development of the elementary and middle/high school Master Schedule, Distance Learning Program, and serve as the College in the High School Programming Coordinator 
• Stay knowledgeable on new school counseling regulations
• Serve as the district’s DASA Coordinator 

Practicum, Franklin CSD, Oneonta, NY (January 2021—May 2021)

• With supervision from the acting school counselor, assisted in various meetings and sessions with students, parents, teachers and administrators. Participated in conferences for assessment, development and implementation of individual treatment plans
• Other activities included: making group lesson plans based on social/emotional, academics and career development for students in grades six through twelve, creating student schedules for the upcoming school year using the school’s website,  handling a caseload of five students and two groups; writing daily case notes and transcripts, handling crisis intervention
• Independently created an online college fair for the students, and spoken with various classes on multiple topics, from Erin’s Law to self-care

Graduate Assistant, SUNY Oneonta (September 2019—May 2020)

• Analyzed and acquired information and presented findings to my professor.
• Researched information regarding school counseling to assist my professors with academic pursuit
• Completed duties per my professor’s request and contributed to research and data analysis within the school counseling field.
• Overviewed multiple manuscripts on topics involving school counseling

Substitute teacher, various school districts in the Tri-county Area (2018—2021)

• Conformed to or adapted lesson plans provided by the teacher
• Utilized appropriate teaching strategies, methods of presentation, and techniques to motivate students to meet lesson plan requirements
