Have successfully worked as Lead Process Engineer at Jacobs and Lockwood Greene, supervising up to 5 engineers and 15 designers (various crafts), providing design and engineering support for chemical process systems used in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, food, PharmaChem, BioChem, vaccine, and a very wide variety of specialty chemical manufacturing facilities. Having substantially more than ten (10) years of A/E/C/P experience as a Chemical Process Engineer supporting design of chemical process systems used in industrial facilities environments.

Responsibilities

Basic and detailed chemical process design engineering activities were successfully and timely and within budget for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, PharmaChem, BioChem, Vaccine, and specialty chemical industries.

Activity planning, work s scheduling, and assigning responsibilities to engineers and piping designers, and monitoring work progress, in order to meet schedule and deliverable goals.

Develop or review and approve PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping layouts, equipment specifications, and technical reports.

Develop or review and approve design and equipment sizing calculations.

Participate in and facilitate Process Hazards Analysis studies, as well as HAZOP and HAZAN.

Coordinate work and team activities with all other disciplines, sub-contractors, and Clients.

Sterile and non - sterile Utilities, such as steam, hot oil, 7 grades of water and wastewater, some electrical

Participate in bid estimating and scope development, including taking sole responsibility for developing and issuing certain bids.

Introduced new technologies to Clients like Numerous branches of J&J, J&J Research, Pfizer, others

ISO 9001 Certified Auditor and Validation cGMP as well as start-up and commissioning.

Participate or originate in Scope, Scope Exclusions, project cost, and schedule, estimating.

Skills & Qualifications

BS in Chemical Engineering, with MS Chemical Eng'g credits, author technical articles published, and one book chapter, Adjunct Professor ChE grad students Stevens U.

Substantially more than ten (10) years of design / consulting experience and even more years of hands-on field experience, performing process design, start-up, and production-support activities.

Experience facilitating, running, and participating in Process Hazards Analysis studies, as well as HAZAN and HAZOP.

Experience in automation systems, including instrumentation and DCS and Delta-V PLCs. Experienced in developing sequences of operations, and representing process controls on P&IDs, including interlocks statements.

Experience managing personnel (see above), especially in all design disciplines (incl. CSA, instr., elec., mechanical, others).

Experience using AutoCAD (1 year), for drawing review required. Generic CADD.

Experience speaking before an audience of Clients and stakeholders, as well as funding management, maintenance, operations, utilities, others.

Software: MS-Office Suite, MS-Project Schedule, SAP, and AutoCAD.  Water-hammer calculations is a plus.

Passed all fit tests for breathing apparatus, including respirators, filter masks, etc., as required by client safety policies.

TWIC Card, all aspects of field and office Regulatory Compliance and HSSE.

Able and willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, fire-retardant clothing, cut-resistant gloves, sterile bunny-suit, and all other PPE, as required per the requirements of Clients’ safety policies.
