Janine Oliver

Hello,

My name is Dr. Janine Oliver, LCSW. I am a part-time psychology professor and clinical psychotherapist. My doctorate was in the field of psychology with a focus on cognition and instruction. 

I have been working as a counselor since 2002, a clinical psychotherapist since 2007 and teaching psychology at the college level since 2010. My area of doctoral research focused on critical thinking ability and the impact social media and reality television has had upon our ability to think deeper and conduct analyses. I am currently teaching as an adjunct at a local community college and doing online psychotherapy for a group counseling agency.

As a doctoral researcher and student I delved into the impact reality television and social media have had upon the ability to think critically. As a cognitive psychologist, I focus on how people think, process information and aspects of memory, to name a few areas of focus. I also focused on instruction as a doctoral learner. I enjoy teaching and am an adjunct college professor looking to expand at this time to a full-time teaching position at the college level.
