Janice Simms

I have a total of 13 years experience working in the social work field. I have served as a mental health therapist, sexual assault counselor, therapeutic manager, and a medical social worker. I have a great deal of experience and eager to use my knowledge to make a difference in others‘ lives. I have skills in working with mentally ill clients, ranging from ages 14-80. Also, clients with critical Illnesses, living In poverty, and clients needing resources. I am skilled in completing psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and evaluations. 

I have experience in performing individual, family, and group therapy to clients that are mentally ill, diagnosed with chronic illnesses, needing resources to help with basic living things, and life stressors. I also have leadership experience. I worked as a team leader for 5 years of my career as a social worker. I am knowledgeable on serving individuals of all ages. 

Master’s In Social Work, received in 2012 from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL.
