About Janelle Kountz:
My passion and drive for the baking/pastry world has led me to 16 years of hands-on experience in the industry. My very first job baking reassured me I was in the right direction as it led me to apply for the Clark College Bakery Program in 2009. After completing the program in 2011 I have remained in the industry traveling and learning the beautiful trade. I was Executive Pastry Chef at the Cannon Beach Bakery. I was a pastry chef in Hawaii at a high end resort. And I have managed various candy stores and bakeshops throughout my career. My specialty is in custom cake decorating and chocolate/candy work.
Experience
As a bakery owner I specialize in custom cake and candy making. I have worked high production bread jobs. I am fluent in baking conversion and breakdowns as well as costing product. I have managed groups of 30+. I have taught chocolate classes in Hawaii. I was an assistant pastry arts teacher for Chef Ian Titterton at Clark College 3 semesters. I was on the Clark College Bakery Advisory Committee 2012-2014.
Education
My most relevant experience is the education I received at Clark College in their 2 year baking program. This education has been priceless to me.
