James Mills

I am a 2024 graduate of Marshall University School of Pharmacy. I have worked in pharmacy in some capacity since 2019. I worked as an intern for both Rite Aid in Wheelerburg, OH and Drug Emporium in Barboursville, WV and remained with both companies until each store closed in July 2024 & September 2024 respectively.

I have been working as a staff pharmacist for CVS in Portsmouth, OH since being licensed in August 2024 

I am a Registered Pharmacist in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

My #1 asset as a pharmacist is my ability to communicate effectively with both my patients and coworkers. I take pride in being able to assess verbiage, tone, and body language and translating that to being able to express myself in the best way for a specific person to receive the information I have to share with them.

This skill, in turn, enhances my ability to deescalate situations that arise from time to time in the pharmacy. I am asked frequently by my technicians “what is the best way to tell a patient ______” and do what I can to impart this skillset on my staff. Due to my communication & deescalate abilities, I have little trepidation with being asked to handle difficult situations and offer to help technicians when they encounter volatile situations before they ask.
