About James Lindsay:
Driven clinician blending physical therapy, business management, and IT to deliver data-informed sports rehabilitation. Actively pursuing a career in sports physical therapist with plans to earn the Sports Certified Specialist credential. Excels at athlete load management, performance testing, interdisciplinary coordination to optimize safe return-to-play outcomes.
Experience
I have built my career in sports‑medicine settings where I work with athletes ranging from professionals to high school competitors. At Texas Metroplex Institute Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington, I manage a fast‑paced caseload of 20–35 patients per day, collaborate directly with nationally recognized orthopedic surgeons, and use VALD force plates and dynamometry to guide objective performance testing. Before that, I worked at Banner Physical Therapy’s Center of Excellence in Phoenix, where I focused on sports‑related injuries, supported local high school athletic programs, and performed data‑driven injury‑risk screenings. Earlier in my training, I completed over 120 hours of shadowing at the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Institute in Gainesville, observing SCS‑certified therapists treating UF athletes. I also served as Interprofessional Chair and Clinical Manager at the UF PT Easy Access Clinic, where I coordinated communication across disciplines and oversaw daily clinic operations.
Education
I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Florida, where I gained extensive exposure to sports medicine through clinical rotations, shadowing SCS‑certified therapists, and participating in athlete performance screenings. During my time at UF, I also held leadership roles, including serving as Interprofessional Chair and Clinical Manager for the PT Easy Access Clinic, which strengthened my communication, operations management, and collaborative care skills. My academic and clinical experiences gave me a strong evidence‑based foundation in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.
