James DeDakis

Currently operating as a freelance media editor and co-producer for local podcast Living Southern Oregon under the banner of J-DeD Media, I have spent years working as a production coordinator and manager in a high-paced and demanding work environment at an apparel manufacturing company in Los Angeles. While in that position I was responsible for all materials, garment specifications, and communications to and among contractors from design up through bulk order completion. I am process-oriented, analytical, have excellent communication skills, and have a great capacity for critical thinking, all of which helped me excel in an industry where I had no prior experience. The same skills have helped me to adapt to the field of digital media editing, as I still must keep track of multiple projects, keep media organized, ensure quality of material, maintain communication with clients, meet client specifications, and deliver the final product ahead of deadline to account for any oversight or post-facto changes. 
Additionally, I enjoy collaborating on teams, and working in creative and supportive environments. I have spent the better portion of my life composing, recording, and performing music with various ensembles, and believe the skills I have learned through making art are the foundation for how I communicate and work on any team. 

I have broad experience in production across multiple industries. 

I have a high school diploma, and spent four years at University studying music and history.
