About Jacob Hauk:
I have my Master’s in Spanish and have taught at the collegiate level for two years now. I love sharing my passion for language learning, whether it be teaching Spanish or English to non-native speakers. Instilling the importance of language learning in one’s personal and professional life is something I always want to do for my students.
Experience
I have offered proofreading services to an accounting firm when they were creating a Spanish version of their website in 2019. Before COVID, I taught Spanish for the first time at a local community college, Davidson County Community College, as a sub in early 2020. Then as I was completing my Master’s degree, I taught my own Spanish 101 class for a year at my university, UNCG. Now that I have graduated, I am teaching Spanish at another local university, Guilford College. Regarding TEFL, I have volunteered for some time with a local organization that teaches English to local refugees, Real World English. More recently, the organization partners volunteers with Spanish speakers across the world to do weekly Zoom calls and practice English.
Education
I received my high school diploma in 2015 from First Christian Academy. In 2017, I received my Associate of Arts degree at a local community college, Guilford Technical Community College. I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish degree in 2019 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and I received my Masters of Arts in Spanish there as well, in May of 2022.
