About Irina Gurevich:
I am experienced scientist with over 15 years of research experience. By training and work experience, I bring strong foundation in immunology and cell biology including experience with tumor models, primary immune cells and preclinical in vivo models. I have a proven record of establishing and optimizing existing cell-based and in vivo methods for integration with complex project requirements. Most of my career I was specializing in biology of myeloid and lymphoid cells and their interactions in context of functional immune response. I have vast experience working with primary cells from mouse and human, isolating particular cell types and handling complex co-culture. Further on, I specialized in studying the role of extracellular matrix and tumor microenvironment on T cell functioning. In addition, I acquired expertise development and validation of topical HSV-based gene therapy for genetic skin diseases. In my recent position as Principal Scientist at Hengenix biotech, I was Scientific Project Leader on immuno-oncology project, to develop a monoclonal Ab for immunotherapy. The role required intense collaborative work on 2 projects concurrently, to coordinate planning and execution of parallel or/and complementary workflows. The efforts resulted in successful completion of Antibody Discovery stage, allowing to proceed with potential drug candidates toward in vitro and in vivo validation.
I would like to add, that my serpentine career path has refined my communication skills and nourished collaborative mindset. I have a proven record of excellence in screening various types of data, to summarize and interpret, analyze and present to colleagues and collaborators. During my career I have accumulated skills to produce variety of reports, preparation of scientific articles and clinical study documents, as well as development training materials and SOPs, working in dynamic team in timely manner. I consider one of my strengths is a capability to evaluate technical and operational challenges in particular process and internally develop or onboard new technologies to deliver phase appropriate solutions.
The driving force for me is a passion to make an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases. I’m looking forward next position in to share my values of enthusiasm, innovation and professionalism.
