My journey has not been an easy one; a girl pursuing medicine from a village where majority did not attend school. The values instilled in me by my faith and my family kept me going. The idea of being part of a profession focused on helping others regardless of conditions, I cannot imagine a more fulfilling job in the world filled with sorrow. I did not come from a family of doctors. My mom is a homemaker, and my father a businessperson. Therefore, when I decided to become a doctor, I never really quite understood how great an influencer I can be on other people’s lives. Having witnessed this pandemic, I think it is a gift to have the opportunity to care for patients in their more vulnerable times. 

Recently, while waiting for my test scores, I also worked as a voluntary health care worker during this pandemic. I realized that the tears of thanks in patient’s eyes have no parallel in this universe. No words can explain why I wanted to become a doctor. I felt I was doing the best job in the world. I did not get compensation for this voluntary work, yet I still feel if needed be I will do it repeatedly because the gratitude of patients is what drives me work harder during sleepless and long hours.

 I want to make a difference in people’s lives, for that I request you humbly to consider my application and provide me with a chance to become a well-trained and compassionate doctor working on the frontline.

I have performed the best to my knowledge and I intend to advance the field of medicine through scientific questioning and discovery if given the chance.
