About Himanshu Ladole:
I am a fourth-year MIS student at CSULB, majoring in Management Information Systems. I have a strong academic record, with a GPA of 3.8 and membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I have also earned multiple certifications in English proficiency, such as the EnglishScore Test & Certificate C1 and the Duolingo English Test.
In addition to my studies, I am an Event Officer at the Japanese Student Association, where I coordinate with team members weekly to plan and execute Japanese cultural events that attract and engage students from diverse backgrounds. For example, I helped structure and market the Takoyaki Party, which resulted in over 100 attendees and positive feedback. I also manage supplies and costs for the events, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Through my previous roles as an Intern at the Intensive English Course at Orange Coast College and a Student Assistant at the OCC Recycling Center, I have gained valuable experience and skills in communication, customer service, and problem-solving. I have provided personalized English language practice, fostered rapport with prospective students, organized program events, assisted visitors with recycling procedures, sorted and organized recyclable materials, and promoted a positive and supportive team atmosphere.
I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills in the business world, and I am eager to pursue an internship that will allow me to grow in both my education and career. I always look for new opportunities and challenges and would love to connect and make things happen.
Experience
As a Management Information Systems student at California State University Long Beach, my international education is helping me make a positive impact in technology and cross-cultural communication. This experience provides me with the skills to tackle global environmental issues through technology. Studying in the U.S. offers me valuable insights into how information systems can connect cultures and foster innovation, while also exposing me to advanced technologies and diverse perspectives that enhance my contributions to sustainability.
My experience as an Event Coordinator for the Japanese Student Association has highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in promoting understanding and collaboration. I plan to use this insight to develop technology solutions that enhance cross-cultural communication in multinational corporations, such as a Data-powered platform to help international teams overcome language barriers and cultural differences. Additionally, my role as a Student Assistant at the OCC Recycling Center has shown me how technology can improve waste management systems. I aim to create a Data-driven recycling solution that can be adopted globally, reducing waste and supporting circular economies.
My leadership experience as URECBOT Services Committee Chair has equipped me with crucial skills in understanding complex situations, making data-driven decisions, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. These abilities are essential for driving global technological adventures and creating environmental solutions. I plan to develop data-driven platforms that help businesses reduce their carbon footprint, optimize resource usage across global supply chains, and improve energy efficiency. Additionally, my internship at the Intensive English Course at Orange Coast College highlighted the impact of language and cultural exchange. Building on this, I aim to create an educational technology platform that enhances the ability of international students worldwide to understand and learn about new cultures and their resources and how they can use it to crave an identity that displays the best version of themselves, while also applying my analytical skills to improve environmental policies and practices at local and international levels.
My international education is providing me with more than just knowledge; it's building a global network and multicultural perspective crucial for creating technology solutions with wide-reaching impacts. By combining these experiences with my technical skills, I'm preparing to develop innovative technologies that address pressing political and environmental issues and improve global communication and education. My goal is to create solutions that can be implemented worldwide, potentially benefiting millions and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Education
My proudest achievement in 2024 was my appointment and service as the URECBOT Trustee at Large and Services Committee Chair at California State University Long Beach. This role allows me to directly impact student life and contribute to improving campus facilities.
As the Services Committee Chair, I am responsible for reviewing and evaluating the services provided by the University Student Union (USU) and the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC). This involves analyzing current offerings, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations on corporate policy regarding USU and SRWC services and best practices. My role extendes beyond the committee, as I also serve as an ASI URECBOT Trustee at Large. In this capacity, I am part of the team responsible for overseeing the USU and SRWC, along with programs designed to benefit CSULB students. Our duties include approving and monitoring the annual budget of the USU, establishing fees for facility use and services, and approving policies for all phases of operation. The impact of this work is significant.
One example of the impact of our efforts is the Student Government's initiative to modernize the University Student Union (USU) through a complete renovation and remodeling. This project has undergone many stages, from proposal to educating students about the initiative, demonstrating how the current student body can leave a long-lasting legacy at their alma mater, enhancing student life for the future. As the Services Committee Chair, I am involved in a critical aspect of selecting future vendors for the revamped USU. This process includes reviewing every vendor proposal while keeping in mind three important factors: affordability, variety, and the wants and interests of the student body. By understanding these key aspects, we were able to narrow down all the proposed vendors to 8 new ones who would contribute to making the student experience on campus better and more impactful. This initiative will positively affect almost 40000 students who access the USU daily for entertainment, dining, and official resources.
By carefully evaluating services and making informed decisions, we ensure that student fees are used effectively and that campus facilities meet the student body's evolving needs. This experience enhances my understanding of organizational governance, the financial capabilities of the student body, and the importance of student representation in university decision-making. I'm particularly proud of this achievement because it allows me to serve my fellow students and contribute to enhancing campus life.
The skills I gain from policy analysis, budgeting, and collaborative decision-making are invaluable for my future career in Management Information Systems.
