Hadachia Nadia BENACHOUR

I'm Nadia Benachour, an accomplished French associate professor and lecturer with a deep-rooted academic background, holding an HDR in French as my primary area of expertise. I've proudly dedicated over 15 years of my career to the University of Oran 2 Mohamed Benahmed in Algeria. My qualifications include the habilitation to assess and grade various French language exams like DELF and DALF Ciep, alongside Californian credentialing and a certificate of clearance. Currently, I'm pursuing CLAD at the University of San Diego in California, USA.

Before stepping into academia, I contributed significantly as a French journalist and communication officer, highlighting my fluency in the French language.

My commitment to equity drives me to identify and tackle discrimination and its associated limitations. Based in East Bay, California, my expertise lies in teaching French to foreigners, French literature, and exploring African, North African, and Arabic cultures. I specialize in applied linguistics, didactics, and teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLS). Moreover, I maintain affiliations with several international research centers and critical laboratories.

My teaching experience spans across the United States, France, Algeria, and India, covering language, press, theater, and culture. I've moderated various round tables and presentations featuring authors discussing French and Francophone literature and culture.

My research interests are diverse, encompassing linguistic, literary, and didactic aspects of the French language. Notably, I'm involved in an international project with the University of Cergy Pontoise in France, dedicated to creating a contemporary North African literary anthology.

My contributions to academia are reflected in numerous articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals. My latest work focuses on the contemporary state of North African (specifically Algerian) literacy within French-speaking literature. Proficient in French, English, and Arabic, with a basic understanding of Berber, Spanish, and German, I strive to explore the multifaceted dimensions of language, culture, and literature in my academic journey.
