Grace DeHoff

My name is Grace DeHoff, and I am currently in my final year of my neurocritical care fellowship at the University of North Carolina. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and bring a strong critical care background to my patient management in the neuro intensive care unit. 

I am an active member of numerous quality improvement committees and projects including safety event reviews, palliative and hospice initiatives, reduction of hospital acquired infections and building training protocols for ACGME residents. 

I am a co-investigator on multiple TBI research studies at UNC which enrolls 1-2 patients per month in various studies. 

As a medicine trained and boarded physician, I recognize the high value in comprehensive patient care and enjoy the complexity of patient care in the neurologically critical patients.  I have trained at a busy 22 bed neuro ICU that also covers overflow to neighboring units. My training has included proficiency and competency with bedside procedures including endotracheal intubations, central line and vascular access catheter placement, lumbar punctures, and bronchoscopies. Having trained at a level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, I have experience in the management of traumatic brain injury patients and management of intracranial pressure crisis, external ventricular device and post-operative care of decompressive craniectomy cases for both traumatic and vascular emergencies. My training has also included evaluation and interpretation of continuous video EEG monitoring for evaluation and management of seizure and status epilepticus. Ventilator and hemodynamic management skills were integrated portions of standard patient care.
