Gina Sterling

My name is Gina. I moved to the LA area last summer because my husband started residency at Lakewood Regional Medical Center. I’m a writer. I write novels and blogs, and I’ve done copywriting for many businesses, from social media posts to website copy. 

I have copious writing experience for diverse audiences. After completing my thesis, I received an Honors Degree in English from the University of Utah. While I wrote for my school paper, it won 2nd place in the APJ for Best Overall Student Newspaper. Since graduating, I have self-published two books, and my last novel was recently published by a small publisher in England. I have completed countless freelance copywriting projects, including writing website copy for nonprofits and law firms. In Berkeley, I interned at a small publishing house, North Atlantic Books, in the editorial department. I also wrote curriculum as a Supervising Coordinator for an after-school program in Pomona.

I was a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for a nonprofit, the LAVMC, which supports local youth and families in Los Alamos, California. Before my involvement, most events were spread by word-of-mouth. I built their website and social media channels, and now membership encompass almost the entire town. I updated and ran the website, including shooting and editing photos. I ran the Instagram and Facebook accounts. I created their promotional materials for events, including posters, graphics, signage, and merchandise. I also sold ads, and created booklets. 

I also worked at a marketing agency in Newport. My favorite aspect of the job was social media creation. I wrote content calendars, ran photoshoots and edited pictures, created in-brand assets on Photoshop and Canva, conceptualized and executed creative copy for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and wrote and edited blogs and website copy, among other responsibilities.

I would love the opportunity to be part of a creative, collaborative team by making engaging, relevant content. 

I've worked in sales, marketing, graphic design, copywriting, education, and wine. 

I received an honors degree in English from the University of Utah, with minors in Spanish and Education. I studied Literature at Trinity College Dublin. Post-College, I have taken multiple skills-based courses through Udemy and other online learning platforms.
