Gianna Merante

I am Gianna Merante, a first-year math teacher. I am currently sitting for my certification exams in Mathematics and Special Education as I just graduated this past May with my Masters in Special Education. I had the opportunity to create lesson plans, formative and summative assessments, and teach a math lab which offers supports for students who struggle in math. 

I have student taught at Anne M. Dorner Middle School in Ossining as well as White Plains High School during my junior and senior year of my undergraduate degree. I had the opportunity to full time teach at my alma mater Maria Regina as a Geometry teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. I created lesson plans, unit plans, formative and summative assessments, offered extra help every lunch period, and coordinated with the math department chair every week to go through everything I would cover that week. 

I completed my Bachelors in Adolescent Education with a concentration in Mathematics as well as my Masters in Special Education this past May. I am currently sitting for my certification exams for which I will receive my results on August 2nd of 2023.
