Gerardo Moreno

I have been working in the Chemical Plants for most of my career. I am not afraid to learn any new programs or work. If I do not know something I will either figure it out or tell you I do not know but I will try to find the answer. I recently worked at Pemex refinery as part of the Turnaround group which was something new for me and I got to learn a lot of the field side and got to see first-hand how my designs can affect the installation side. Not only did I design but I also got to do planning on my design jobs and order my own material, so I basically started the job and finished the jobs I was assigned.

Started my career walking down P&ID's for two years and then started to pick up redlines for the other designers. Shortly after that I was part of the team that brought 3D CadWorx to Lyondell Basel in Channelview. I was also in charge of learning and teaching everyone how to use a MS-360 which was a total station and a 3d scanner for jobs in the field. Later I changed fields and designed Fire Sprinkler systems for commercial buildings for about 5 years. Got to get back into my field in Piping Design at BEI and came in as a Junior Designer and worked firsthand with the senior designer to knock out job packages. A year and a half later I was recommended for the Turnaround Designer at Pemex on-site and went until recently getting laid off on 11/14/2025 since we finished the turnaround and there is no work until the end of next year.

I graduated Alvin Community College with my associate's degree in industrial Piping Design.
