I am a quick study and I've had many varied experiences in my life.  This helps me to understand and empathize with others, adapt to changes (whether wanted or unwanted), find ways to connect and has been invaluable in doing my best with any job.  I love to learn and apply myself to whatever I'm doing.  

In reverse chronological order:

Currently I work at a Speedway/7-11 gas station as an attendant/cashier so customer service is the largest part of my day.  I'm also accustomed to handling cash, receipts, orders, invoices, inventory, etc.; stocking and keeping product FIFO rotation, including fresh hot foods.  [8/22 to present]

Before that I was a science teacher, mostly of chemistry and physics, with physical and earth science classes along with support functions with biology (Lenoir and later Wayne county in NC).  The short version of my duties was to maintain order and a good learning environment for varying abilities in the classroom of students from 14 to 18 yrs of age, inspiring them to learn science - principles and laws, ways of thinking and solving problems, develop skills and employ them, and discover they can do hard things.  [1/14 to 6/22]

While completing my bachelor's degree I worked mostly as CDL-B driver, either as a school bus driver or as a delivery driver - Gulfeagle Supply, Northern Colorado Paper, and different school districts depending on where I lived.  General duties were to complete daily inspections of my vehicle, learn routes and navigate the greater local area (within a 150 mile radius), drive safely at all times and in nearly every kind of weather.  The delivery driver duties included lifting and maneuvering heavy loads (up to 150 lbs) by hand or with hand-trucks, lifts, and dollies.  [summer 09 to spring 11, and from summer 06 to summer 08, with bus driving mixed in from as early as 04]

I've also been a host-home provider for adults with disabilities along with my spouse.  We would provide home care environments for these individuals, helping them with life-skills, social activities, and a quality of life they could not otherwise enjoy.  Spectrum.  [Approx. fall 99 thru winter 03]

I joined the USAF to help pay for my education in 1991.  Trained as an electro-mechanical maintenance technician I worked on ICBM's and their support equipment, first as a team member leasing out, storing and repairing equipment for maintenance teams to work in the field; and later as part of said teams in working on electrical and mechanical equipment (motor-generators, batteries, coolant circulators, electrical racks, shielding, cabling, etc.), to ensure the mission of keeping the missiles on a very high (99.999%) alert rate in all weather and conditions.  North Dakota and Wyoming.  [5/91 to 6/99]

While in North Carolina I've worked on getting an MAEd in Science Education, but I have one class left to finish but scheduling and finances have made it take longer than expected.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a Certificate to Teach Secondary Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver in Dec. of 2013.
