About George Jacob:

Tenacity, eagerness to learn, and a strong interest in modernizing technology are core traits I bring to every role. Whether assisting coworkers with navigating MacOS and Windows interfaces or utilizing networking software to prospect clients at Hanson Inc., I have continually expanded my knowledge in both the technology and professional spheres.

Currently, I serve as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department at Toledo Hospital, gaining hands-on clinical experience while documenting patient encounters in real-time to enhance physician-patient interactions. This role has deepened my understanding of healthcare operations and is a vital component of my journey on the Pre-Medicine track at The Ohio State University, where I am pursuing a major in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a minor in Biology.

In addition to my work in the healthcare field, I am a General Chemistry Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University. I lead weekly laboratory sessions, instruct students on fundamental chemical principles, and provide individualized support during office hours. My responsibilities also include grading assignments, proctoring exams, and collaborating with faculty to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.

I have also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Child Emotional Development Lab, focusing on the intersection of emotional and cognitive regulation in children, with a specific emphasis on maternal depression. My role involved analyzing mother-child interactions and coding emotional responses, contributing to research that aims to uncover interventions to support healthy emotional development in children.

Each of these experiences has reinforced my dedication to advancing in the healthcare field, as I continue to develop my skills and knowledge in both clinical and academic settings.

Experience

General Chemistry Teaching Assistant (August 2024 – Present)
Currently, I serve as a General Chemistry Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University, where I lead weekly 3-hour laboratory sessions, instructing students in essential chemical principles and hands-on experimental techniques. I provide comprehensive support by grading lab reports, offering feedback, and adapting instructional methods to meet diverse learning styles. To further support students, I hold weekly office hours, offering one-on-one guidance and clarifying complex concepts. I am also actively involved in maintaining academic integrity through exam proctoring and contribute to course success by participating in weekly staff meetings with faculty and fellow TAs to refine teaching strategies.

Medical Scribe (May 2023 – Present)
With over a year of experience as a Medical Scribe with iScribeMD, I assist healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real time, allowing them to focus on delivering quality care. My responsibilities include accurately recording patient histories, physical exam findings, lab and radiology results, procedures, and diagnoses, ensuring thorough and organized medical records. This role has strengthened my skills in real-time documentation, attention to detail, and medical terminology, making me a valuable asset in the clinical environment.

Undergraduate Research Assistant (May 2023 – May 2024)
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Child Emotional Development Lab at The Ohio State University, I contributed to research examining how maternal depression affects children’s emotional and cognitive development. My primary role involved analyzing and coding mother-child interaction interviews, focusing on children’s emotional understanding and autobiographical memory. This position enhanced my research skills, particularly in qualitative analysis and interpretation of complex psychological and emotional cues, and deepened my understanding of developmental psychology.

New Business Development Intern (May 2022 – January 2023)
During my internship as a New Business Development Intern with Hanson Inc., I assisted in identifying and reaching out to potential clients, using lead management platforms such as Seamless.ai, LinkedIn Navigator, and Pipedrive. My work focused on researching potential client partnerships and establishing initial contacts, supporting the firm’s client acquisition strategy. Through this role, I gained insights into business development processes, refined my client communication skills, and became proficient with a range of CRM tools that facilitate efficient prospecting.

Information Technology Intern (March 2021 – August 2021)
As an Information Technology Intern at Hanson Inc., I provided technical support across software and hardware systems, assisting colleagues with various technical issues. My responsibilities included troubleshooting issues, offering one-on-one technical assistance, and managing daily IT operations to ensure a smooth work environment. This experience developed my problem-solving abilities and strengthened my technical support skills, equipping me with the knowledge to handle diverse IT challenges.
