Evan Abbott

I'm a level-headed problem-solver with experience working on set, dedicated to being as supportive as possible, following directions whenever I am needed. I'm adept at staying organized in fast-paced environments, and even enjoy it so! I have a deep love of film, television, and writing on my own time.

As you know, this industry is very difficult to enter. I've had little luck in finding studio work, even for "entry-level" positions. I have years of experience working on professional-level, post-graduate sets through SDSU's selective Production Emphasis Program, acting primarily through roles like production assistant, production sound mixer, editor, and more. I've also produced my own films with intricate planning. Outside of film, I've worked for years as a server in both casual and fine-dining environments; mastering my multi-tasking, professionalism, and communication abilities has been essential for keeping a level-head during the most stressful times.

I have a B.S. in Film Production from SDSU's Production Emphasis Program, where I worked on numerous festival-submitted films. Through my years, I gathered experience in nearly all positions through pre-production, production, and post. I even managed to write and direct my own film, organizing a crew of 25+, a set built entirely from scratch, and professional actors filtered through my own auditions, all through restricted guidelines under the peak of the pandemic. The film was selected for the premiere slot of the school's yearly festival, even beating out Master's students! I also have a minor in Theatre.
