Erin hallett

I am a Senior at Michigan State University obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Apparel and Textile Design. I am interested in Visual Culture, my main focuses are Designing, Styling, and Fashion Photography. Michigan State University's excellent program has helped me thrive with my designs and narrow down my path in the Fashion Industry.

My goals for myself in the Fashion Industry are shown through my work in and outside of class, with my Valentine's Day collection and the microbiology collection, designing merchandise for local bands, a zine I have created, shooting and styling multiple photoshoots, and my works with scanography. I have gotten lots of help from the faculty at Michigan State University, allowing me to create work in and out of class. I am willing to relocate for a job in the fashion industry as well. I graduate in May of 2023.

Worked in customer service assisting clients with their orders and scheduling appointments, and worked with clients to figure out what appliances work best in their homes. I transitioned into a digital sales employee to help clients over the phone and through email. I built client relationships and learned about their needs.to sell them products and help with scheduling and tech issues.  An organized and approachable manager with two years of managing employees, stock, inventory, and labor while handling customer concerns and requests. Trained many employees, interviewed new hires, wrote schedules for 15+ employees and ordered products for the restaurant. Helped out at other stores when needed. Meticulous Assistant with experience helping offices run smoothly. Ensures that the manager's schedule remains up to date by scheduling meetings, files, and appointments. Regularly updates computerized office calendars and sends reminders to office workers via email before important events.

During my time at Michigan State, I have learned how to use different techniques with sewing machines and building pieces such as Corsets, Jackets, Dress pants, and most streetwear. I have also learned pattern making and have manipulated patterns to build different silhouettes for projects and custom pieces for clients. With my textile design courses, I have learned the ins and outs of Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and Procreate. With my studio art classes, I have learned about painting, digital photography, film photography, magazine building, performance art, and the histories of Russian, European, and American fashion.
