About eli leeworthy:

I am a dedicated and hardworking individual with a diverse background in construction, the service industry, and field operations. Currently pursuing my Lineworker certification at Cape Fear Community College, I have developed a strong foundation in electrical theory, safety practices, and hands-on experience with overhead and underground construction. With a background in general and mechanical engineering, I’ve honed problem-solving skills and a technical mindset. As a former foreman at Barringer Construction, I led teams, managed job sites, and prioritized safety while completing complex tasks such as demolition, carpentry, and concrete finishing. My commitment to hard work and safety was further strengthened by my role as a bouncer where I also developed even stronger communication and conflict resolution skills. I am ready to apply my experience, technical knowledge, and leadership skills in my pursuit of becoming a skilled Lineworker.

Experience

I have a diverse background in construction, labor, and leadership roles. I am currently gaining hands-on experience as a student lineman at Cape Fear Community College, where I am learning electrical theory and construction practices. Previously, I worked as a foreman at Barringer Construction for 3 years, where I supervised job site operations, managed teams, and ensured safety protocols while performing tasks such as demolition, carpentry, and concrete finishing. I also gained valuable experience in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and maintaining efficient workflows. I have worked as a laborer for Patriot Construction & Fencing and as a bouncer at The Cardinal Bar, demonstrating my ability to handle physical labor, manage customer relations, and respond to challenging situations. My diverse skill set is supported by certifications including OSHA 30 Construction Safety, OSHA 10 ET&D, CPR & First Aid, NCDOT Flagger, 811 Pipeplus, and a Class A CDL.

Education

I am currently enrolled in the Lineworker Program at Cape Fear Community College, where I am gaining practical skills and knowledge in electrical linework. In this program, I have learned how to set and climb poles, install cross arms, hardware, lines, and transformers, and apply both overhead and underground construction practices. I have gained hands-on experience with the tools and equipment of the trade, while also focusing on electrical theory, safety protocols, and effective teamwork. Additionally, I have obtained key certifications at CFCC, including OSHA 10 ET&D, NCDOT Flagger, 811 Pipeplus, Class A CDL, and CPR/AED First Aid.
