Current Aspen Dentist/Owner of 4 years. I have practiced dentistry for over 20 years. Passionate about helping patients in need. Excellent at oral surgery. Completed dental mission trips in both African and Haiti.

My name is Dr. Dwight Thompson. I am originally from Waukegan/ North Chicago,
Illinois in Lake County. I graduated from Carmel Catholic High School (formerly known
as Carmel High School for Boys) in Mundelein, Illinois, in 1988. After graduating from
high school, I attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where I earned my
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science with a concentration in
Biology. Upon obtaining my undergraduate degree, I went on to Howard University
College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery.
After finishing dental school, I received post-graduate training from Jesse Brown VA
Medical Center (West Side VA Medical Center) in a General Practice Residency
program, which focused on Oral Surgery, General Dentistry, Emergency Room Care,
Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Operating Room and Hospital Protocols and Care. I also
had the opportunity to train at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New
York, NY, where I received certification in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
After receiving extensive training in the various disciplines of dentistry, I stayed on at
Columbia University as a clinical instructor for the AEGD program and went on to
become the dental director of the Thelma Adair Medical/Dental Center in the historic
borough of Harlem, NY. I have also worked in private practices in East Orange, NJ,
Chicago and the Southwest Suburbs of Illinois.  I have worked for Aspen Dental for going on five years.  I have been a practice owner partner for the last year.   I’ve been married to my lovely wife,
Antonia Christian-Thompson, PT, MS, PhD for twenty-two years. We have three beautiful
children. Our fraternal twins, Jaxson and Ona (11), and our youngest son, Rohan (9).
