Bhagavan Bollina is a passionate security researcher who loves hacking and breaking things on the cloud. Parallelly he also dabbles in web, network and mobile security. Bhagavan was an core member of the cloud security R&D and testing team at Appsecco. His enthusiasm for cloud security has led him to do multiple community speaking engagements at null meetups and conferences. 

When not building and breaking stuff in the cloud, he enjoys bug bounty hacking and CTFs. He loves training his dog as well in his spare time, but the dog weirdly seems to not like cloud security.

Experience

During my role as a Cloud Security Engineer from June 2022 to June 2023, I gained significant experience in various aspects of cybersecurity. My responsibilities included conducting Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) and performing Cloud Security Research and auditing on AWS and GCP. I also specialized in Web Application Penetration Testing, API Penetration Testing for protocols like SOAP, REST, Protocol Buffers, and Network Security assessments with a focus on Black Box and Grey Box Penetration Testing. Additionally, I conducted Mobile Application Penetration Testing on Android platforms and actively participated in Red Teaming exercises, contributing to enhancing overall security measures. This diverse experience allowed me to develop a comprehensive cloud security and penetration testing skill set.

Education

I pursued my academic journey with a strong focus on cybersecurity, earning a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland, a program that extended from August 2023 to August 2025. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science at BML Munjal University, where I actively engaged in extracurricular activities as the Academic Affairs Secretary for the Student Council during the academic year 2020-2021. These educational experiences provided me with a well-rounded foundation in computer science and a specialized expertise in cybersecurity, equipping me with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the field.
