Dr. Terence Alexander Rozzell MS, LPCC, LICDC PhD

I have had the experience of working in many different clinical environments and with a variety of populations and illnesses.  I have worked skillfully with both treating mental illness and addiction.  Both required me to utilize my education and skills in promoting nutritional therapy and educating the client on the benefits of improving a nutritional lifestyle. I have also developed skills and education in treating eating disorders using self-imagery, meditation, and experiential treatment. Significant experience working with the developmentally disabled, behavior planning, treatment planning, and collaborating with direct care staff, psychologists, and medical doctors. Extensive experience working with a developmental challenge, homeless population, providing behavior consulting services, devising behavior plans, and consulting with families. The therapist has extensive experience working with the homeless population: Connections for the Homeless, case manager at St. Francis Hospital; Salvation Army Homeless program, Chicago, Illinois; and Wheeler Mission Indianapolis, Indiana.  The therapist has over 20 years of experience providing case management and clinical services to the homeless population. I have provided HIV testing and counseling in every addiction counselor position. This would include clinics, hospitals, community-based programs, senior independent living facilities, inpatient & outpatient facilities, and schools.  have worked with chemically assisted treatment, dual-diagnosed, and severely mentally ill; adolescents, adults, seniors, and families.  Administrative proficiency is part of my skill set, including documentation, progress notes, and DAP notations. Also trained and experienced in completing assessments, treatment plan updates, and behavior plans.  Having earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling, I am knowledgeable and skillful in the implementation and execution of many evidenced-based treatment interventions, including CBT & REBT, transtheoretical model, Gestalt, person-centered, multi-system theory, family sculpting, group, and individual counseling.

I have completed a CACREP-accredited program and have earned State licensure as an LPCC in Ohio & Kentucky. I have worked in the mental health & substance abuse field for over ten years in an undergrad capacity, such as a case manager.  Possess clinical solids, and the desire to learn, grow, and increase my clinical skills and knowledge through those more skilled than I is my attitude.  My most critical clinical skills are establishing and maintaining healthy, therapeutic boundaries. My educational background, passion for people, and willingness to do beyond what the job requires with ethical boundaries make me an excellent candidate.  Having the education, clinical skills, and passion, I would like to be considered for this position at your agency.
