Diba Baycora

My name is Diba Baycora, and I am now employed at a North Jersey-based urgent care center with five locations as a certified medical assistant and receptionist. I received a degree in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Ultrasonography Sonography from Eastwick College. I received my phlebotomy, medical assistant, and EKG certifications while I was a student at Eastwick College. I am pursuing my vascular ultrasound certification while working full-time at Skyland's Urgent Care. This job would be delightful because it is a new experience to enter all fields in the healthcare facility. 

Currently I am working as a certified medical assistant/receptionist at a five location urgent care located throughout North Jersey. We have many responsibilities and duties on our shift. These tasks for our clinical duties include assisting the doctor with all procedures, performing EKGs, verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, documenting social, and past medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit, prepares patients for evaluation by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary, and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments. The tasks for our administrative duties include scheduling and managing patient appointments, insurance verification, answering phones and taking patient questions, filing, updating, and organizing patient records, and planning and coordinating hospital transfers and laboratory tests.

My associate's degree in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Ultrasonography Sonography was earned at Eastwick College. Phlebotomy, medical assistant, and EKG certifications were all attained over my first three semesters. Along with studying echocardiography and vascular, I also participated in hands-on laboratories. We were all placed at a hospital to advance our careers in ultrasound sonography at the conclusion of our two-year curriculum. I was assigned Centrastate Hospital in Freehold, New Jersey as my clinical site, and there I made progress toward my professional aspirations.
