Experience
With a robust background in program and operations management across defense and engineering sectors, I am interested in contributing (long-term) to an organization's growth in a management capacity. My experience aligns well with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined in the Program Manager or Senior Project Manager job descriptions, promising a smooth transition into any industry if accepted.
Most recently, at Huntington Ingalls Ship Building, I led teams that channeled a strategic vision into the Navies Pacific Fleet Sea Enterprise 3 Program, backed by a $46 million annual operating plan. With a steadfast commitment to Agile and Earned Value Management, my team of project managers and engineers has notched up a portfolio of twenty-two Government contract task orders, reflecting dedication to precision and structured efficiency. This role sharpened my ability to manage and optimize programs to support internal and external customers, directly mirroring the responsibilities of a key role to spur additional growth. My tenure at Serco as a Program & Ship Hull Manager working in BAE San Diego Shipyard, and VT Group as a Senior Project Manager further developed my strategic oversight, budget management, logistics, customer engagement, and vendor coordination skills, all of which are crucial for production success.
My success is reinforced by client commitment and the rigor of weekly production meetings, where, as a team, we hold departments accountable, resulting in minimal cost and schedule variances. These achievements underscore my ability in project planning and customer relationship management, fostering an environment where continuous improvement is in lockstep with client satisfaction.
I'm excited about the opportunity to transition my skills in Government contracting to a new and dynamic industry.
Regards,
David B. Taylor
