About David Edgar:

I retired from the Securities & Exchange Commision (SEC) under the deferred resignation program (DRP) on September 30, 2025. I am now reentering the workforce to perform the financial reporting function for publicly traded company or company looking to undertake an IPO.

Experience

I was employed as an accountant by the SEC for 21 years. In this capacity, I reviewed IPOs and other filings for compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations with an emphaisis on revenue recongition, stock-based comepnsaiton, EPS, non-GAAP measures and MD&A (metrics).

Prior to joining the SEC, I handled the financial reporting for 2 publicly traded companies and I worked in public accounting as an auditor.

Education

I received a bachelor's degree from Towson University in May of 1991 and I passed the CPA exam on my first attempt in November 1991.
