About Danyelle Angel:
My name is Danyelle Angel, and I am a dedicated Community Health Worker with a passion for empowering individuals and strengthening communities. With a background in crisis intervention, care coordination, and public health advocacy, I bring a trauma-informed, compassionate approach to every interaction. My work spans across housing stability, food security, healthcare navigation, and direct support services, always centered on dignity, equity, and access.
Over the years, I’ve served vulnerable populations, from veterans and domestic violence survivors to individuals living with disabilities and chronic illness. Whether it’s guiding someone through a difficult system, facilitating group support, or connecting families to vital resources, I strive to be a steady, reliable advocate.
I’m driven by my personal experiences, professional growth, and a deep belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. Whether I’m leading, learning, or serving behind the scenes, I’m committed to building pathways of hope and resilience.
Experience
I’m a passionate and versatile professional with over 15 years of experience in community health, crisis intervention, leadership, and hospitality. My work is rooted in service, advocacy, and a deep commitment to helping people overcome barriers to stability and wellness.
As a Community Health Worker with a non profit Crisis Ministry, I support individuals and families navigating housing instability, food insecurity, chronic illness, and behavioral health challenges. I specialize in trauma-informed care, case management, crisis response, and health education, and I’m proud to be part of the Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) program, connecting clients to critical non-medical resources that support long-term well-being.
My background also includes serving as an Assisted Living House Supervisor, where I provided 24/7 care to individuals with disabilities, as well as resident assistant at transitional housing for veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and those re-entering the community after incarceration or rehab. These roles taught me the power of consistency, compassion, and individualized support.
In addition to my work in healthcare and social services, I’ve held leadership roles in the hospitality industry and airport operations, where I led diverse teams, maintained high standards under pressure, and ensured compliance with strict federal regulations. I also owned and operated my own cleaning business for several years, developing skills in customer service, quality control, and business management.
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to build trust, foster resilience, and ensure that every individual I work with feels seen, heard, and supported. I believe in meeting people where they are, and I’m committed to creating access, opportunity, and hope one connection at a time.
Education
I currently serve as a Community Health Worker Case Manager at a nonprofit , specifically through a Crisis Ministry. I work directly with individuals and families facing housing instability, food insecurity, financial hardship, and other urgent needs that impact their overall health and well-being. My goal is to meet people where they are, advocate for their needs, and help them navigate complex systems with dignity and support.
Earlier in my academic journey, I studied Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Psychology at Virginia College, which gave me a well-rounded understanding of social systems, human behavior, and the root causes of injustice and inequity. During that time, I also completed internships with the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department and the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office in Heidelberg, Germany. These early experiences shaped my sense of professionalism and taught me the importance of integrity, accountability, and strong communication in every role I take on.
In addition to my professional and academic background, I bring lived experience to the work I do every day. I’ve personally faced housing instability and know what it’s like to navigate overwhelming systems while trying to keep a family safe and stable. That experience fuels my passion and allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level not just as a case manager, but as someone who understands what it means to survive, rebuild, and thrive. I believe in leading with empathy, building trust, and walking alongside people as they work toward stability and hope.
