Daniel Roemer

Daniel Roemer is an accomplished filmmaker with over 20 years of experience in directing, screenwriting, and editing. He gained early recognition as a USA Film Top 10 Emerging Director by age 20 and became a two-time Project Greenlight Best Director finalist (selected by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon) out of 60,000 entrants. His work has achieved worldwide theatrical distribution in over 75 countries, with films available through major retailers like Target, Best Buy, and Amazon via Lionsgate distribution.

Roemer's recent projects include directing the 8-episode sci-fi thriller series "Chaser," distributed by Buffalo 8 and streaming on Prime Video and Tubi. His diverse portfolio spans feature films, documentaries, music videos, and nonprofit work, featuring collaborations with high-profile actors including John Travolta, Meryl Streep, and Ben Stiller. He holds a BFA from Academy of Art University and an MA in Directing from MetFilm School in London, and has taught internationally in Spain, Hungary, and across the United States, while his work has been featured on major networks including Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, and A&E.

Daniel has served as an international film instructor across multiple continents, teaching at institutions in Barcelona, Spain (2009) and Budapest, Hungary (2008), where he developed and delivered comprehensive curricula covering Introduction to Film Studies, Film Theory & Criticism, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Digital Video Production, and Advanced Video Production techniques.

Daniel has extensive domestic teaching experience as a Film Instructor at Mansfield Art Center (2016-2019) and Bethel College in Minneapolis (2012), where he taught Acting for Camera, Auditioning, Filmmaking, Building Blocks of Cinema, Directing for Professionals, and Film Communication. His teaching spans both foundational and advanced levels, from introductory film studies to experimental filmmaking and music video production.

Daniel has combined his 20+ years of professional filmmaking experience with his educational background (BFA from Academy of Art University and MA in Directing from MetFilm School London) to bring real-world industry knowledge into the classroom. As a two-time Project Greenlight Best Director finalist and award-winning filmmaker with worldwide distribution through Lionsgate and major networks, he offers students direct insight into professional film production, having worked with major studios like Fox and Sony Pictures.

Daniel has demonstrated his commitment to film education through his diverse teaching portfolio that covers the complete filmmaking process - from initial concept and screenwriting through cinematography, editing, and final distribution - providing students with comprehensive industry preparation.

Daniel has comprehensive formal education spanning all aspects of cinema production with an MA in Directing from MetFilm School London (2022-2023) and a BFA in Motion Pictures & Television from Academy of Art University (2020-2022). His undergraduate foundation includes film and theater studies at the University of Southern California (1999-2001) and specialized directing/cinematography training from New York Film Academy at UCLA (1999). He also completed the elite Act One Screenwriting School in Los Angeles (2007), providing him with advanced storytelling and script development expertise.

Daniel has acquired extensive hands-on education across the complete filmmaking pipeline through both undergraduate and graduate programs, covering storytelling fundamentals, screenwriting, physical production techniques, digital production workflows, and post-production specialization. His educational experience encompasses decades of editing training, producing methodologies, color grading, visual effects (VFX), and sound design - providing him with comprehensive technical and creative knowledge across all cinema disciplines.
